FAQ's

What is Team Chiropractic?

Team Chiropractic is essentially a student driven chiropractic PR organization. We are dedicated to teaching people about health and wellness. We actively reach out to the community to teach as many people as possible about the benefits of chiropractic.

How can I join?

To become an official member of Team Chiropractic simply attend meetings regularly.

Why did this start?

Honestly, we started out of frustration with the multitude of misconceptions about chiropractic. All too often did we hear things like “You’re a chiropractor? Great, I really need a good massage!” Or, questions like “I heard once you go to a chiropractor once you have to go for the rest of your life?” and “Is it safe to get adjusted? Is it safe for children? Is it safe for my neck?” (by the way, the answer is yes!) In addition to eliminating misconceptions, our goals have expanded into the realm of helping the community and teaching people how the body works so they can make good decisions about their health. Also, we want every student of chiropractic to be able to communicate with confidence and authority about the science, philosophy, and art of chiropractic!

What happens at meetings?

Lots. Philosophy Discussions are not uncommon. We also work-shop communication skills. This can be by means of impromptu situations that we role play, or presentations that are given by different students. Most often we are preparing for speaking engagements by practicing presentations or organizing business.

Who pays for all of this?

I’m glad you asked ;0)

Most Team Chiropractic branches engage in a variety of fundraising to keep the organization going. Club officers will collect a small amount of dues from each member at the beginning of a semester. Typically, dues are not required to attend meetings, but merely to participate in extra-curricular activities. You can still participate in our communication workshops, philosophy discussions, and other campus activities without paying dues. Dues vary between branches.

Donations are an important source of funds. No donation is too large or too small, and they usually come from local chiropractors in the community. If you are interested in donating to our cause, please contact either the president of the branch that you are interested in, or Darren Hollander to see how your funds can best help us.

Finally, the club also sponsors seminars with esteemed members of the chiropractic community to raise funds. In June 2007 Patrick Bodnar did a seminar at Parker College called “Marketing, Branding, and Advertising for the Highly Successful Chiropractor.” It was sweet.
